Here we share a summer skincare ritual, embracing the ebb and flow of the changing seasons and our energy levels, simultaneously adapting to the needs of our skin.
Formulated to replenish sun-kissed skin, scented to evoke the sense of possibility felt on a beautiful, long summer’s day. Our seaweed infused organic oil deeply soothes and hydrates skin, whilst vitamin rich raspberry seed oil helps aid skin cell repair.
In the summer months our natural energy can be higher and we may find we are also more physically active. A warm bath with our Midsummer Bath & Body Oil, as the sun begins to fade, can provide a moment of grounding and time to recharge.
Alternatively massage our Midsummer oil into damp skin post showering, locking in added moisture and enhancing a sun kissed glow.
You can find out more about the inspiration behind our Midsummer Bath & Body Oil here.
Deeply cleansing and purifying, our Innis Face Mask will leave your skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This treatment can be particularly beneficial in the summer months when our pores can be clogged with sweat and SPF.
In a bowl, mix one tablespoon of powder with a little water to make a paste. Apply to skin and leave for ten minutes to dry. Remove the mask with warm water and a washcloth.
For a speedy skin boost, mix a pinch of the face mask powder with a little water in the palm of your hand and use as a gentle but effective exfoliator.
Our seaweed infused Nurture Face Oil quickly sinks into the skin, leaving you with a clear and glowing complexion.
In the summer months you may find your skin produces more sebum and you only need to use our Nurture Face Oil in the evening, massaging 4-5 drops of oil into your skin.
To use our face oil in the morning alongside an SPF, massage one or two drops into your face and allow a few minutes for the oil sink in before applying sunscreen.
A ‘Could Do’ Summer Self- Care List
1) Mark the Summer Solstice, the longest day of our calendar year, by watching the sunrise or sunset, or both! Invite a moment of rest and reflection.
2) Enjoy the abundance of fresh produce available at this time of year. If you aren’t sure what’s in season, just consider whether it is a fruit or vegetable that ripens in the sun.
3) Head out for the day with a packed lunch, flask of tea and an extra jumper, with no plans other than just being outside. When my children were small, we used to do this all the time. It’s getting harder as they get older to persuade them out for an aimless walk, but cake usually helps!
4) Catch up with friends and family. Because real-life human connection is deeply soul warming.
5) Spend some time journaling. Here are some seasonal journal prompts:
How are you feeling following the Spring months?
What does ‘just being’ look like to you this season?
What intention do you want to bring into this new season?
